    Q3 COD4 Game night questions

Hey looking forward to the new season but anyway.

    A couple of questions:

    1. Are the new maps gona be played on, or only the old ones?

    2. Is it all the same rules as Q2.

Please anyone that know's reply to this.

    Thanks.

    1. Some of the new maps will be played.

    2. The rules are nearly identical to this season with a few clarifications added.

You won't need to purchase the extended map pack.

    Well

Im gonna have to say playing creek, chinatown, and pipeline are not going to be good for competition. from personal experience these maps assist sloppy gameplay and for most lans they are going to be an FPS hog.

Suggestions would be to keep the map rotation low and keeping the "random" maps out of play.

Re: Q3 COD4 Game night questions

Every map is good for competition.  Each has a certain technique required to win.  Some may seem dumb, but still they are all unique.  Most of the time, those that do not practice on a map or do well on a map are those that complain about that particular map.  Can't please everyone.

Most teams in the iGames ladders are amateur anyway so regardless of map, sloppy play is unavoidable.  Not even the top performing teams are truly professional, though some are probably close.

Centers with FPS issues need to upgrade.  That's just a poor excuse to complain about any map for any game.  That's like saying certain maps are unusable due to competing centers utilizing slow internet connections.  Who's fault is that?  Tough luck.

I'm going to have to Disagree with you.

Pipeline was a Season 1 Map for CEVO thus why it was included.

Chinatown is a remake of mp_carentan a COD2 MAP. It is to scale the exact same map as carentan with different models to make it a modern map. Carentan was used by Both CAL and CEVO for MANY seasons of COD2 and by us for our COD2 Game_Night proving to be a player favorite.

As for Creek, Creek is a preseason map and does not count toward the competitive play. It's just for fun.

Alrighty then, well Im pretty sure Creek should never be used for competition, ever. Ive pubbed and scrimmed that map and its just down right retarded. As for pipeline and chinatown, my only concern is that they both are frame hogs. The maps them selves are decent enough for competition but both CAL and CEVO have been looking to replace both of those maps with either one map being played again or someone making a custom map, like Toujane.

The whole tough luck arguement works and doesn't work. Sure the center should upgrade, but what if they can't? Also the tough luck *** basicly means its an unfair advantage. I might as well get me some cheats and play and say, "Tough Luck".

Re: Q3 COD4 Game night questions

Hey everyone...speaking of Cod4 questions: This will be my center's first Game Center Night participation and we are very excited, but all my team members have one question - How do you save the profile?  I mean, the level of the profile?  When they play, get to say level 20, then log off and come back another day, their profile is there, but they start again at level 1.  I really would appreciate any assistance, as I would feel very bad for my team if everyone had to start at level one.

    Thanks to all whom respond.

Wow, Not the same at all.  It is a given that some centers do not spend enough on internet or do not have it setup properly.  Comparing poor internet quality = installing or using cheats is nonsensical.

Everyone is level 1 for the competition, but with unlocked equipment.  The competition mod settings make it this way.  You should probably jump on the practice server (hopefully someone can post the IP) to see how the settings are set.

    Well,

Our team Recently Played in the Pre Season Match, And i must say, Creek was a Challenge. It was basically a camping map with all the Bushes/Trees to hide Behind.

    Our Teams first Tournament o.O

    Lost 2 Won 1 :O
